Role Overview

Under the supervision of the Program Director, the incumbent plans and schedules work assignments, provides direction to other event staff. As well as keep assigned area running, clean and orderly. This position is responsible for the maintenance and setup of all event related equipment/assets, which includes all specialty Audio Visual equipment. The Incumbent must be a results-oriented leader who plays a pivotal role in the organization and execution of events and doesn’t need supervision. This position is part of a 24/7 operation which includes weekends.

 

Salary Statement

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $42,900.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Supervise the use of event equipment and supplies.

  • Serve as Manager on Duty as scheduled

  • Organizes the daily floor activities to ensure the timely set up, refresh and removal of equipment

  • Clean and maintain Audio Visual equipment, report damages and misuse to the Event Mgmt Supervisor

  • Leads the team in proper security, storage, transportation, and all event of equipment.

  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment to keep it presentable and in good working condition

  • Maintenance of equipment to ensure equipment is in safe and working order in accordance with Health, Fire, Safety and Regulatory guidelines

  • Participates in physical inventory count processes as requested.

  • Notify manager of concerns with any equipment

  • Responsible for set up of all event equipment

  • Arrange work production to meet daily workflow and short/long term goals.

  • Inspect all work tasks for quality assurance and completion.

  • Complete needed reports, including the daily activity inspection.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Assists in training event staff on all floor activities and on event service expectations

  • Keep concise inventory

  • Dust office spaces, common, and public area to meet Conference Center Management standards.

  • Clean carpeted areas using spot cleaning and/or the use of carpet extraction equipment.

  • Clean, all event equipment.

  • Remove trash and recyclable materials from office spaces, common, and public areas.

  • Report maintenance concerns to supervisor.

  • Perform special tasks related to event duties, including furniture cleaning, linen upkeep

  • Ability to set-up and operate all audio visual equipment.

  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Through knowledge of standard process, practices and procedures of the event trade.

  • Advanced knowledge in the operation of sound equipment.

  • Responsible for accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of intermediate audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section

  • Meets with guests on site to ensure that their needs are met, and the equipment setup is working properly

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly as they arise

  • Ability to supervise, motivate, and direct the work of event staff.

  • Use and maintain assigned equipment including but not limited to sound mixers, speakers, Press Box, wireless Handheld, lapel and headset microphones.

  • Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day

  • Ability to maintain good working relations with employees, department heads, and other staff.

  • Ability to keep and maintain records and prepare progress reports.

  • Vacuum and shampoo carpeted areas.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality when working with high level offices.

  • Perform non-routine repairs as instructed by a supervisor.

  • Make appropriate decisions without assistance from an immediate supervisor.
