Position Summary

This is a professional position in State Office Human Resources (HR) and is responsible for independently performing a variety of human resource duties. These duties require comprehensive knowledge of Agency policies, procedures, goals, and programs within the Agency relating to human resources. This position assists the Agency by providing analysis and research on various personnel services, and handling inquiries from employees and outside entities.

 

The Work You Will Do  

Responsible for processing advertisement requests, including posting positions on applicable job sites within prescribed timeframes.

 

Responsible for providing technical assistance to supervisors and managers regarding the Agency’s Recruitment and Selection processes. Consult with management regarding Recruitment and Selection issues and formulate strategies to resolve them.

 

Responsible for the Agency’s Veterans’ Preference Recruitment Plan, surveys, and other requests according to applicable State statutory laws, federal laws, and Agency policies and procedures.

Research, revise, and apply Agency policies, procedures, and processes related to Recruitment and Selection and human resources.

 

Collaborates with external partners for recruitment and participates in recruitment events.

 

Attend meetings related to recruitment and selection, assigned DMS Community of Interest Meeting(s), training, and internal and other meetings as assigned.

 

Assist with other recruitment functions, such as hiring requests and onboarding processes.

 

Assist with ensuring compliance with the background screening process and preparing and processing screening invoices for payment.

 

Assisted with developing, implementing, and conducting new employee orientation and other training within the functional area.

 

Assist with the exit interview process, including reviewing and analyzing exit interview data and providing reports to management.

 

Assists with disaster planning, response, recovery efforts, and emergency needs.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.

 

  • Two years of human resources experience.

 

  • Must have a valid driver’s license or other efficient means of transportation and be willing to travel for work purposes.

 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Direct Deposit Program

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

 

Background Screening Requirement

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.

Pursuant to S. 110.1127(1), Florida Statutes, this position requires a background investigation, including fingerprinting.
