JOB OBJECTIVE : The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating and managing efficient production schedules that satisfy customer orders while meeting company objectives regarding inventory, productivity, lead times, and service levels. This position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to optimize resources, maintain smooth operations, and support our commitment to quality and sustainability.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborate with the Planner to create, review, revise, and communicate daily production schedules, ensuring adherence through proactive communication with production and cross-functional teams.
  • Implement necessary schedule adjustments promptly in response to customer orders or internal issues such as material shortages, production delays, and backlogs.
  • Address and resolve challenges related to production schedules, inventory management, cost control, and delivery objectives.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely execution of new product introductions, new packaging, test runs, discontinuations, and process improvement activities, adjusting schedules as needed.
  • Assist in establishing standard production times, yields, line capacities, and labor utilization metrics.
  • Monitor and track material inventories, production progress, and other internal factors impacting the schedule.
  • Support periodic inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Analyze and rectify inventory discrepancies to maintain data accuracy and lot coding integrity.
  • Participate in the product recall process, including training, mock recalls, and actual recalls.
  • Generate and distribute internal reports, responding to inquiries to provide relevant data.
  • Identify, document, and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in production planning in CPG or perishable food manufacturing
  • Demonstrated understanding of production processes, inventory management, and supply chain coordination
  • Flexibility to handle a broad range of responsibilities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of forecasting techniques and inventory management principles
  • Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and articulate thoughtful suggestions to improve existing systems & processes
  • Experience with ERP/Business Central, and/or other relevant technologies
  • Proficient Excel user
  • Proficient written/verbal communication skills, in English; Spanish a plus.
  • Knowledge of organic dairy industry is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Frequent periods of standing, walking, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, hands, fingers.

• Frequent periods of sitting, working on and looking at a computer screen, for extended periods.

• Occasional periods of working in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.

• Occasional periods of climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and turning of the head and torso.

• Ability to withstand temperatures ranging from -20° to 115° Fahrenheit.

• The ability to climb and balance is essential.

• Ability to work in cold, wet, humid environments.

• Ability to work in high allergen environments.

• Ability to withstand noise produced by manufacturing and warehouse machinery up to 90 decibels.

• Ability to lift, hold and/or carry 25 pounds, unassisted.

• Flexibility to work after hours when required, to work weekends and holidays, and as business needs arise.
