Operations Manager

Location: Hydro-Tech Irrigation – Sterling, VA (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year

The Operations Manager plays a key role in supporting the operational strategy, execution, and performance at Hydro-Tech Irrigation. This position ensures field services, customer support, and site operations run efficiently while maintaining quality standards and company goals .

Key Responsibilities of the  Operations Manager

Operational Leadership & Strategy

• Develop and implement strategic operational plans to achieve company goals
• Oversee all field service operations , including irrigation, land maintenance, and related services
• Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes and procedures
• Implement best practices and standardized processes to enhance efficiency and resource utilization

Team Leadership & Development

• Provide direct leadership and mentorship to field operations and site administration teams
• Recruit, train, and develop high-performing field staff
• Set clear expectations, goals, and KPIs to drive performance
• Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with direct reports to monitor progress and address challenges

Customer & Compliance Management

• Maintain strong client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
• Promote a culture of safety and accountability among field teams

Performance & Financial Oversight

• Utilize forecasting and capacity models to ensure teams are properly staffed and trained
• Analyze performance metrics and operational data to identify areas for improvement
• Manage weekly scorecard reporting to track business success
• Implement policies that promote company culture, vision, and safety

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations leadership within a service-based industry
• Strong knowledge of field service operations and performance metrics
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Frequent repetitive hand and arm motions with prolonged periods of sitting
• Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, listen, reach, kneel, and balance
• Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for keyboarding and handling equipment
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Noise level is typically low to moderate
• Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
