Join our team and play a key role in evaluating operations and ensuring compliance in the oversight of vital research in the mortgage finance industry. As a leader, you will oversee work in areas such as mortgage products and securities, borrower behavior, investment strategies, housing prices, financial valuation, stress testing, and more. You will establish and manage analytics and reporting functions to support model governance and risk management.
The Impact You Will Make
As a Model Risk Reporting Director (Open to Remote), you will have the flexibility to make each day your own while collaborating with passionate colleagues. You'll be responsible for:
Leading teams in identifying and reporting model risks, assessing the impact of business activities, internal processes, and external environmental changes.
Working closely with stakeholders to enhance workflows for model validation, performance monitoring, and issue management.
Ensuring effective identification, measurement, monitoring, reporting, mitigation, and control of risks across business activities.
Generating both qualitative and quantitative analyses for executive-level reporting and ensuring models align with strategic objectives.
Collaborating on technology solutions to improve data capture for regular and ad-hoc reporting, while providing innovative solutions that enhance business performance.
Using a solid understanding of business context to interpret results, monitor performance, and assess risks through statistical, econometric, and modeling techniques.
Overseeing ad hoc analyses, including those using Tableau, SAS, SQL, R, or Python.
Building and developing a high-performing team, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Experience You Bring to the Team
A minimum of 8 years of experience in model validation or development.
Expertise in quantitative analytics applied to credit, interest rate, risk, and fixed income valuation.
Proficiency in experimental design and applied statistical methods (e.g., regression analysis, AI/ML techniques).
Skilled in visual representation of data using tools like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas simply and engagingly.
Ability to create and edit visual content to communicate concepts effectively.
Experience working with leadership and stakeholders to drive consensus and action.
Strong leadership capabilities, including team management, coaching, and mentoring.
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
Experience with governance, compliance, and risk management.
Familiarity with reporting platforms such as Tableau, Excel, and Power BI.
Proficiency in programming languages like SAS, SQL, R, or Python.
Experience in learning and training, including conducting and evaluating training programs.
