SUMMARY The Senior Tasting Room Lead at Jacuzzi Family Vineyards will function as the Tasting Room Manager’s right hand in all duties associated with the retail floor. The Senior Tasting Room Lead is responsible for providing the front-line guest experience as well as supervising, training, and motivating the Tasting Room Staff. This position is the champion of customer service in creating the perfect balance of education and memorable experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - In-depth knowledge of brand, product, winemaking techniques, POS & reservations systems, hospitality programs is required to successfully train and lead the rest of the team
- Oversee Tasting Room staff to ensure they are properly trained on all procedures, including operating POS/reservations systems, maintaining proper inventory control, signing up club members and collecting customer contact information at the point of sale.
- Carry out duties associated with opening and closing of the Tasting Room
- Ensure that all Tasting Room staff follows responsible hospitality standards at all times.
- Communicate effectively news, updates and procedure changes to the Tasting Room Team.
- Lead, develop and train the Tasting Room Sales team to achieve daily sales and budgeted goals and to build increased customer loyalty.
- Nurture an atmosphere of teamwork and enthusiastic employee relations among the Tasting Room staff.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, the ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information and/or situations and the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong leadership qualities with both customers and employees, promoting excellence in team and individual growth.
- Effectively resolves customer or staff conflict directly, or by knowing how and when to escalate to the Tasting Room Manager’s attention.
- Help execute physical inventory of wine, food and merchandise.
- Own all retail processes: ordering, performance and depletion/replenishment tracking, proper storage and display of all items for retail floor, NAV/C7/website set up of items, monitor exp. dates and price tagging.
- In collaboration with TR manager, improve performance of retail sales via exposure, promotions, bundles, create gift packs for special holidays, etc..
- Ability to assist customers with questions on experiences, wine orders, shipments, etc. and ask for assistance from other departments when needed.
- Make sure essential printed materials for staff and visitors are accurate, timely updated and always available.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the Tasting Room and all tasting areas.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of Tasting Room events, club parties, etc.
- May be requested to attend offsite special events and tastings.
- Responsible Beverage Certification and Food Handlers Card
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with good presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage with constantly changing priorities.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and experience with POS systems.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and occasional evenings.
- Must be able to stand on feet up to 8 hours, climb stairs, bend, twist, and work in a small area with other employees
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors at various tasting locations, and conduct multiple 30-minute walking tours of the winery
- Knowledge of Commerce7 POS, Tock, NAV, UPS QVM, ShipCompliant, ADP.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience, Knowledge, and Skills - Exemplary customer service skills.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Prior hospitality, winery, or front-of-house restaurant experience.
- Ability to manage constantly changing priorities.
- Responsible Beverage Certification and Food Handlers Card
- Previous experience with POS, Commerce7, Tock, NAV, a plus.
- Retail sales experience: the ability to present products, up-sell & cross-sell.
Physical Demands - Continuous standing, with frequent walking on even and uneven surfaces
- Intermittent sitting
- Occasional bending and twisting
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs continuously, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push and pull up to 50 lbs intermittently
- Ability to work in an environment that is indoors and outdoors

Hourly Pay: $23/hour + tips
