Operating successfully in Green River, Wyoming, Genesis Alkali is the world’s largest natural soda ash mine and production site, offering a secure, reliable, and diverse range of high-quality product choices. Genesis Alkali mines and processes trona ore and manufactures soda ash that is used in the production of glass, detergents, chemical manufacturing, pulp and paper production, and water treatment. In addition, the company also produces sodium bicarbonate and other chemical compounds used in common industrial, agricultural, and household applications.

Title: Distribution Supervisor
Location: Green River, WY
Key Responsibilities: - Demonstrate safety as the number one priority and actively lead employees in all areas around safety.
- Develop and maintain monthly plan schedules that incorporate but are not limited to: employee training, area cleaning, area maintenance, outage planning, loading/packaging schedules.
- Develop and measure performance against area key performance indicators (KPIs) and hold team accountable for results.
- Manage work schedules, vacation coverage, overtime and payroll to maintain efficient operations of distribution area.
- Foster crew participation and ownership of results.
- Engage crew members to instill a drive for results mindset.
- Consistently manage performance utilizing the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) as a resource.
- Confront and manage conflict directly and effectively.
- Understand individual team members’ strengths and needs to proactively seek coaching opportunities to develop the team.
- Develop the team’s problem-solving capabilities and facilitate team problem-solving activities.
- Create/foster a positive work environment.
- Coordinate with maintenance work on dayshift and ensure the equipment is properly inspected and tested after repairs are completed.
- Facilitate incident/accident investigation and ensure environmental compliance.
- Provide timely on-site incident command.
- Provide support during customer, certification, and regulatory audits/inspections.
- Enforce approved standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
Activities: o Develop area specific safety action plans and manage results against plan
o Develop job specific training needs, train and field verify knowledge, understanding and document results
o Master Balmert or other site skills requirements and comply with site requirements; SORRY+/- and HRP’s
o Facilitate incident/accident investigation
o Near miss reporting
o Identify and mitigate potential hazards
o Develop job specific training needs - train and field verify knowledge
o Collect and verify daily production and report as required
o Develop monthly schedule consistent with business needs and update daily to document performance plan
o Ensure that equipment and area is ready for maintenance activities
o Help develop and manage KPI’s measures to improve operations
o Monitor equipment and write appropriate work notifications
o Provide off-shift coordination
o Participate in shift hand-off meetings
- Foster team communication amongst the crew, and with other departments.
- Identify cost savings, and efficiency improvement projects.
- Answer grievances and perform administrative tasks including but not limited to, timecards, overtime, vacation approvals, and occurrences.
- Partner with the Human Resources department on labor relations, including contract administration.
- Lead performance management of the crew, and effectively confront issues as they arise.
- Resolve data discrepancies and investigate customer quality questions to identify and implement corrective actions.
- Comply with regulatory requirements including ISO, Q7A FSMA, Food Safety, USP, Air Permits, etc.
- Provide relief for the Distribution Production Manager
- Support ISO 9000 efforts.
- Identify and communicate cost savings and efficiency improvement ideas.
- Serve as a member of the Food Safety Team
- Work production weekend duty as required
Skills, Capabilities and Educational Requirements: - High school diploma or GED and 3 years industrial experience required.
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to learn complex tasks,
- Demonstrated capability with MS Office including Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.
- SAP / Oracle knowledge strongly preferred.
Final determination on pay will be made by Human Resources and company leadership considering the candidate’s education, experience, past performance, demonstrated leadership, and influence.
