Job Description

Overview Two LLC start-ups, one is a sole proprietorship and the other is a multiple member model with investors. As the director of both, I need someone who can both manage our expenses and revenue, budget, investor contributions, tax preparation, etc. you will work with our financial analyst and myself.

The position will be responsible for recommending software and systems to build the foundations of our financial management.

Both businesses are based on social equity. One from a global innovation perspective and another that serves women and LGTBQ people. There will also be a French component, as one LLC will own a French business entity. a French law firm and accountant will be responsible for this aspect.

Most meetings will be online, and although this is a part time position, we hope that the person who joins our small team will align with the mission of the start-ups. Remote team members are based in France, California, and Kenya.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, preparing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in financial software. The Management Accountant will contribute to the overall financial health of the organization by providing insightful analysis and reporting.

Duties

• Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, debits, and credits.
• Conduct regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.
• Interpret financial reports to provide actionable insights for management decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and analysis activities.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely submissions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting processes and financial report interpretation.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance for LLCs, including K-1s.
