PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Director of Early College Programs will lead the University System of Maryland's (USM) efforts to develop and expand Early College programs that empower students traditionally underrepresented in higher education. This role is dedicated to providing early academic opportunities for students in Baltimore City and rural areas across Maryland. By blending high school and college elements, the Director will ensure students have access to college-level coursework and pathways that build college readiness. The Director will collaborate with local education agencies, stakeholders, and consultants to enhance program accessibility and outcomes, fostering equitable educational opportunities and stronger student success. This position is on contract for one year with the potential for renewal.

Funding & Resource Management:
Identifies and secures funding opportunities through grants, partnerships, and other financial mechanisms to sustain and expand early college programs.
Collaborates with the USM Foundation to pursue philanthropic support for early college initiatives.
Prepares and manages budgets for system-level early college initiatives, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Education Level/Certifications:
Master's degree in education, educational leadership, or a relevant field.
Required Experience:
7 years of progressively responsible experience in educational program development, educational strategic leadership, or a related field.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ph.D. or Ed.D. in education, educational leadership, or a relevant field.

Working knowledge of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future as well as other related state policies, regulations, and budgets.
ANNUAL SALARY:
$115,000-$130,000
