**Job Overview:**
RWJBH is seeking a highly dedicated Director Cardiac Cath Lab. The Director of
the Cardiac Cath Lab and Physiology departments is a Registered Nurse (RN)
with the knowledge, skill and competence in the field of invasive cardiac
nursing. The Director utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach to facilitate
optimal patient care. The Director demonstrates the knowledge and skills
necessary to provide age appropriate care to the cardiac patient population.
**Qualifications:**
**Required:**
* Education: BSN required, MSN preferred.
* Experience: Minimum three (3) years relevant clinical experience with cardiac population required. Minimum two (2) years in cardiovascular leadership required.
**Certifications and Licenses Required:**
* CertificationLicensure: NJ Nursing Licensure required. Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
**Scheduling Requirements** :
* Day Shift
* Monday Friday, some weekend commitment and holiday rotation
* FT
**Essential Functions:**
_Assumes the role as a leader in planning, directing, and managing the
departments and staff to assure quality service on a 24 hour basis_
Prepares and implements written policies and procedures all phases of
departmental operations.
Periodically updates department Policy & Procedure Manuel.
Responsible through managers and supervisors for the overall operation and of
all assigned departments.
Staff adequate and appropriate coverage for operations.
Directs all quality review functions and operations in the Department. This
includes the clinical management of patients, patient satisfaction and safety
and effective and efficient utilization of hospital services.
Establishes, implements and monitors annual goals and objectives which are
consistent with the hospitals mission and objectives. All reports are
thorough, accurate and submitted by assigned deadlines.
Monitors activities of managers and supervisors to ensure compliance with
established guidelines and policies.
Facilitates strong lines of communication between managers and staff. Prepares
strategic plans for cardiac program with the Vice President and Medical
Director. Implement the plans and review the plans annually and revises as
necessary.
