Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a member of an integrated project team providing enterprise system and mobile application cloud migration support, the Cloud Systems Administrator is responsible for managing the instances of the Cloud infrastructure services and Cloud servers; overseeing and maintaining a multiuser computing environment being mindful of cost-effective ways to fulfill technical requirements. Working with minimal supervision, you will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, implementing, and managing the systems that make up the underlying cloud environment/platform and the tools and automation used and created to support the platform. You will often be the go-to personnel to resolve and provide any assistance with system problems. Occasional on-call support is required for after-hours, holidays, and weekends. Additional job duties and activities include:

  • Defining, designing, communicating (for approval & awareness), and implementing Cloud architecture and administration processes compliant with client policy, governance, and specifications.
  • Creating, documenting, and updating a methodology for reliably carrying out your duties.
  • Developing and supporting innovative solutions to complex problems and automating routine and other burdensome activities.
  • Timely implementation of security configurations, patching, and other updates.
  • Integrate and implement approved new technologies; documenting where and as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Years of Relevant Experience: A minimum of 5 years of Cloud environment configuration, administration and tools.
  • Must-Have:
    • Defining secure-based cloud architecture while adhering to development methodologies, engineering, and cloud standards.
    • Providing detailed guidance to engineering team members creating administrative processes and procedures.
    • Performing operational and day-to-day administrative support functions, including troubleshooting issues and support of change and problem management processes.
    • Developing, deploying, and troubleshooting IAC environments using Hashicorp Terraform.
    • Working within multiple Cloud Service Providers; e.g., AWS GovCloud, AWS Commercial, and Azure.
    • Ability to support the cybersecurity team in conducting security analysis and assessment of current processes and platforms and generate ad-hoc reports and guidance for team members or management.
    • Ability to design solutions and recommend the most suitable design packages to improve current administrative security levels and performance.
    • Professional verbal and written communication skills that clearly, concisely, and properly convey information the first time thereby successfully avoiding miscommunications and/or providing inadequate information, reports, deliverables, and responses.
  • Desired Skills, But Not Mandatory
    • Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Azure, AWS, GCP, and other Windows-based technologies. The ability to configure VMs and Web Applications are added advantage to become a cloud system administrator.
    • Experience with administering Linux.
    • Experience supporting engineering applications in a Cloud environment.
    • Experience identifying, tracking, remediating and documenting software and hardware vulnerabilities for-and-with the engineering, development, and cybersecurity teams.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

CERTIFICATION(S)

  • At least one of the below Microsoft Certifications is required, and possessing two or more certifications is beneficial.
    • Azure Administrator Associate (preferred)
    • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • Azure Fundamentals
    • Nice to have in addition to Microsoft certifications:
    • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
    • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
